Storm Creek Supports Save the Boundary Waters
If you’ve ever been to the Boundary Waters, you can truly appreciate its pristine beauty. It’s endless green shorelines, bordered by the clearest water in the world, is simply breathtaking.
To portage through a thin pathway, pack on your back and a canoe above your head, waiting to see what’s around the next bend is an experience like no other. When you arrive at the next lake and realize it’s just as beautiful as the last, you understand how powerful mother nature really is – it puts life into perspective.
That’s why, as part of Storm Creek’s Embrace the Cause Initiative, we partnered with Save the Boundary Waters (STBW) to support its efforts to protect the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area.
The Boundary Waters is the most visited wilderness area in the country, containing 1.1 million acres of pristine water and untouched woodlands. Combined with the Superior National Forest, it contains 20% of all the fresh water in the entire National Forest System.
Trouble is, sulfide-ore copper mining just outside the Boundary Waters poses an imminent threat. Pollution from proposed mines, if built, will flow directly into the heart of the Boundary Waters. A single mine will contaminate the wilderness for at least 500 years.
It’s more than one mine being proposed, for the Boundary Waters it’s a first step towards an industrial corridor of mines, mills, roads, and rail lines along the edge.
Storm Creek is committed to protecting our nation’s outdoor recreation and natural wilderness areas. To help ensure that the Boundary Waters Canoe Area is protected so that future generations of outdoor enthusiasts around the globe can enjoy the incomparable, cherished scenery for years to come, we have introduced an exclusive line of branded Save the Boundary Waters Apparel – featuring our Eternity ¼ Zip Pullover.
Offered in four colors, the Eternity ¼ Zip Pullover is the perfect layering piece for a canoe trip. It features infinite wicking technology and UPF 30+ sun protection. It’s comfortable three needle contrast stitching offers performance that won’t wash out.
For every pullover sold, we will donate $20 to support the Save the Boundary Waters Campaign. Together with STBW, we hope to sell enough to make a significant financial impact.
